INAUGURATION MEETING
On Feb 25, 2023, SUAF members braved the heavy rains and celebrated the annual meeting and the Inauguration of the officers for 2023.
The event was held at the Carmel Mountain Ranch library and was graced by guests from the Silliman University Alumni Association of Southern California (SUAASC): Faith and Mario Duran; Phelia and Amando Benigian, and their son. Faith, also the current chair of SUACONA, performed the inauguration ceremony and gave an inspirational message. The new officers are:
- Laarni Gularek-President,
- Precila Garrido- Vice President,
- Miriam Cole-Secretary
- David Field- Treasurer
- John Bandala-Auditor
- Miriam Tan Cole- BOD Chair
Amy Buluran gave the welcome message and introduced the guest speaker, Laarni gave the President’s remarks and set the new goals for the year, and Fely Narvaez gave the closing remarks.
After the ceremony, raffles were drawn with the beautiful succulent arrangement donated by Erna and Paul Selzer, as the prize. Paul and Erna also donated other succulent arrangements sold during the event. Then came the birthday celebration of the Jan, Feb & March celebrants.
The general meeting was also held during the event. Our new members, Erna and Paul Selzer were introduced to the group.
Old business topics were revisited and future plans were discussed. Each committee also gave a report.
Despite the rains, fun & fellowship succeeded and the Silliman Spirit prevailed!
