FEBRUARY BIRTHDAYS (Feb. 19, 2023- Santianna, Carlsbad)
A group celebration is a tradition that the February celebrants have observed in the past several years.
This year, the celebration took place in Santianna, a beautiful luxury senior living where one of the celebrants, Sonia Sheeks, is currently living. The group was provided a private room where they could celebrate the event. The celebrants were: Fely Tan Narvaez, Miriam Tan Cole, Grace Villanueva Tan, Sonia Sheeks, Vanessa Puntiak, and Alma Lavergne. Gaya and Joel Simpkins, Laarni and Frank Gularek, Erna and Paul Selzer, Priscilla Madrid, Tessie Valenciano, Nate Tan & Louella Dolar joined them in celebrating this happy moment.
It was a day of good food, fun, and fellowship. Again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the celebrants! Thanks to Fely for organizing this and Sonia and Santianna’s management for hosting the celebration. Till next year!

APRIL BIRTHDAYS
Our president, Laarni Gularek and Erna Selzer share a birthday month & celebrated their birthdays together with friends and family at the Shogun restaurant, San Marcos, on April 15, 2023.
The Shogun chef’s culinary exhibition enlivened the celebration as he cooked our meals in front of us. The smell of fried rice, grilled steak, chicken, scallops, and vegetables effectively whetted our appetites. As usual, our ever-efficient socials coordinator, Prescy M., brought a birthday cake which we all shared.
After the sumptuous meal, Laarni led a trivia game in which we all participated. Answering the questions was tough as most of our blood was directed to our guts (and away from our brains). All the same, we had a great time!
